The International Medical Center of Children’s Hospital of Fudan University was established in October 1993, making it the first pediatric institution in China to offer foreign-related medical services. Covering an area of nearly 4000 square meters, the International Medical Center comprises four functional areas: the outpatient clinic, inpatient department, health management department, and vaccination department.
The International Medical Center provides integrated and efficient services, including emergency transport, disease diagnosis and treatment, and health management.
The outpatient clinics features specialized clinics covering all pediatric subspecialties, multidisciplinary team (MDT) clinics, and rare disease specialty clinics. It provides 24-hour emergency services and one-stop innovative services, serving 140,000 children from 35 countries and regions annually. It also has an Shanghai International Consultation Hall where Chinese and foreign experts collaboratively develop individualized treatment plans for children with complex and rare diseases. The inpatient department has 26 family rooms providing international-standard medical services. The vaccination department designs personalized vaccination plans for children worldwide, particularly for those with underlying conditions such as tumors or immune disorders. The health management department offers comprehensive health services, including scientific check-ups and evaluations, throughout the entire growth cycle of children.
The medical expert team consists of 160 specialists from various disciplines, including foreign experts. Over 70% of the team members have overseas study or work experience, ensuring their ability to provide international-standard medical services. The team excels in several key areas:
1. Minimally invasive surgery for congenital structural abnormalities and solid tumors.
2. Screening, intervention, dialysis, and transplantation for chronic kidney diseases.
3. Genetic Diagnosis and Precision Treatment of Neurodevelopmental Disorders.

The department is equipped with advanced instruments such as the Da Vinci surgical robot, PET-CT, and O-arm, ensuring high-quality care for children's health. Additionally, it has signed fast direct payment agreements with domestic and international commercial insurance companies and offers multilingual translation and dietary services tailored to the patients' nationalities and cultural customs.
